Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen dead at 65

Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen has died, his investment firm Vulcan said Monday. He was 65.
"It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our founder Paul G. Allen, co-founder of Microsoft and noted technologist, philanthropist, community builder, conservationist, musician and supporter of the arts," Vulcan said in a statement.
Allen died in Seattle from complications related to non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. He had just announced two weeks ago that he was being treated for the disease.

The 100 meters world record-holder, who is bidding for a professional contract, recovered from a painful kick in the groin to grab a double against Macarthur South West United in Sydney.

Bolt, 32, finished with his left foot after some slack marking on 55 minutes, celebrating with his trademark ‘Lightning Bolt‘ pose.

Rihanna has finally noticed the Nigerian model with prominent tribal marks who want to work with her and she replied by following her.

INEC bars Atiku, Buhari, other aspirants from campaigning till Nov. 18
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has prohibited public campaigning by presidential candidates until November 18.

This is in line with the timelines given by the agency and the provisions of the Electoral Act, INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu said.

Yakubu reminded political parties and candidates that the end of primaries did not mean the immediate commencement of campaigns.

“Section 99(1) prohibits campaigns by political parties earlier than 90 days before polling day.

A former military ruler, Ibrahim Babangida, has distanced himself from all social media accounts in his name.

In a statement by his media office, Mr. Babangida, popularly called IBB, particularly disclaimed Twitter handles making statements in his name.

The latest of such is a purported message of congratulations to Atiku Abubakar, who emerged presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), at the weekend.

The Henley Passport Index is a ranking of all of the passports in the world based on the number of countries their holders can travel to visa-free.

Until now Japan had been sharing joint first place with Singapore, which gained visa-free access to Uzbekistan earlier this year bringing its total to 189 countries.

Nikki Haley resigns as U.N. Ambassador


President Donald Trump said Tuesday U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley is leaving the administration "at the end of the year."
Trump spoke as he and Haley met in the Oval Office, shortly after word came of her plans to resign.

He called Haley a "very special" person, adding that she told him six months ago that she might want to take some time off. Trump said that together, they had "solved a lot of problems."

Women are still invisible - Chimamanda Adichie


Women everywhere are sharing stories of sexual harassment and gender inequality but men still aren't really listening, Nigerian author and feminist icon Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie told the Frankfurt book fair Tuesday, urging men to read books by women.

"All over the world, today women are speaking up. Their stories are still not really heard," Adichie said at the opening of the world's biggest publishing event.

"Women are still invisible. Women's experiences are still invisible."

A year after the #MeToo movement went viral and ignited a global discussion about sexual harassment, Adichie said there was much work left to be done.
