A mass grave containing the remains of 800 German soldiers killed in World War II has been unearthed during building work in the south-western Russian city of Volgograd, the German War Graves Commission said on Friday.  


The discovery in the once fiercely-contested city, previously known as Stalingrad, was made while water pipes were being laid, the commission said.

PDP leaders including Senate President, Bukola Saraki today staged a protest to INEC headquarters in Abuja, demanding a credible election in 2019. We don’t know what went wrong, but they were allegedly tear-gassed. Now Senator Bruce is saying he and others have been summoned by the police to appear at the force headquarters.

An angry Bruce, however, threw a jab at the police saying when will they conclude an investigation into the attempted mace theft.

Britain's tallest man has finally got his first ever suit at age 30. Basketball player Paul 'Tiny' Sturgess, who stands at an impressive 7ft 7ins, has spent years unable to find a suit big enough to fit him.

But after struggling to find a tailor to make him a three-piece in his size, he eventually managed to track down a London-based one.

Tim Nash, of Norton and Townsend tailoring, took on the challenge using twice the amount of fabric a regular man would need for a suit.

Zone ‘A’ of the Nigeria Customs Federal Operations Unit, has intercepted a bus carrying two big sacks containing military uniforms and boots along the Ijebu-Ode expressway.

The Hiace bus which was said to belong to Chimezie Motors Nigeria Limited, with registration number JJT 905 XB, was intercepted on Wednesday.

“This is national security. Though they are not much but the damage that will be done will be much, that is why we seized them,” said the unit boss, Mohammed Aliyu. He told a journalist that his unit also seized 22 vehicles, including nine bulletproof cars.

Former House of Rep. member, Patrick Obahiagbon, has emerged All Progressives Congress (APC) Edo South Senatorial candidate at the party primaries held on Thursday in Benin.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that at the primaries, which held in the three senatorial districts, also returned Ehiozuwa Agbonayima, incumbent House of Representative member representing Ikpoba-Okha and Egor Federal constituency as candidates.

In a tweet on Thursday after the election, Obahiagbon thanked the people of the district.

A former US Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. John Campbell, has said though Nigeria possesses extraordinary potential, it is the truly troubled giant of Africa.

Campbell stated this in a new book he co-authored which was presented to the public on Thursday in Lagos at the US Consul General’s residence.

He also saluted the entrepreneurial spirit of Nigerians in the book titled, “Nigeria: What Everyone Needs to Know”

Campbell stated in the book that virtually every major university in the English-speaking world hosted Nigerian academics with the country’s medical personnel found in hospitals all over the United States and elsewhere.
