Facebook is launching the first electronic device to bear its brand, a screen and camera-equipped gadget intended to make video calls easier and more intuitive.
The new voice-controlled screen, which has the Amazon Alexa voice assistant built-in, can be used to make video calls to friends and family via the social media giant's Messenger platform.

Google Plus shutting down after security glitch exposes up to 500,000 users' data

Google is closing its troubled Google Plus social network following the discovery of a software glitch this past spring that may have exposed user information of up to 500,000 customers between 20015 and 2018, the company said Monday. 

In a blog post by Google on Monday, when the company’s technical staff discovered the bug in March, they decided against disclosing the issue to users because they hadn’t found anyone that had been affected.

Saraki, Melaye, Murray-Bruce Sue IG, Demand N500m Damages

President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki; senators Dino Melaye and Ben Murray-Bruce have sued the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, over their invitation by the Nigeria Police.

Saraki, Melaye, and Murray-Bruce were among the three leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party who held a protest march to the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission and the Force Headquarters in Abuja on Friday to protest against the outcome of the Osun State governorship election.

Politics: Fayose Threatens To Quit PDP

The outgoing Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has threatened to leave the Peoples Democratic Party after the National Convention held on Saturday in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.

The governor hinted Punch correspondent on Monday that he would renounce his “membership of the PDP anytime from now.”

He added, “After consultations, I will speak clearly to Nigerians.”

According to Page Six, stylist Maher Jridi is suing the incredibly rich rapper for failing to return expensive wardrobe items she had borrowed last year. The stylist further added that he rented the pieces for thousands of dollars from a company called Cloak Wardrobe.

Nicki allegedly wore the clothes and didn’t bother to give them back once she was done.

FIFA suspends Sierra Leone FA from football activities over government interference

World's Football governing body, FIFA have suspended Sierra Leone from international football because of government interference in the running of the country's football association.

The suspension comes after FIFA sent a letter to the country's Minister of Sports expressing "grave concern" about the removal of the football association president, Isha Johansen and the association's General Secretary, Christopher Kamara.

The country's anti-corruption commission (ACC) had barred President Isha Johansen and the association's General Secretary, Christopher Kamara from the governing body's offices due to their cases of corruption-related charges.

Police Detain Lawyer For Alleged Fraud, As Lawyer Cries Out, This Is Strange



A Lagos-based lawyer, Chibeze Azubike, is at daggers drawn with the police over what he described as unlawful detention and assault.

The lawyer lamented that the police detained him for three days at the Lion Building Police Station on Lagos Island over an alleged fraud and declined his demand to see the evidence of the purported crime.

Azubike said he later learnt that his arrest was orchestrated by the girlfriend of one Ihegbu, who rented a three-bedroomed apartment he managed in Imo State.

He explained that the girlfriend had accused Ihegbu, who is based abroad, of fraud and reported the case to the police in Imo.

A mass grave containing the remains of 800 German soldiers killed in World War II has been unearthed during building work in the south-western Russian city of Volgograd, the German War Graves Commission said on Friday.  


The discovery in the once fiercely-contested city, previously known as Stalingrad, was made while water pipes were being laid, the commission said.  

Politics - Police Summon Ben Bruce, Saraki, Melaye Over Today’s Protest At INEC Office


PDP leaders including Senate President, Bukola Saraki today staged a protest to INEC headquarters in Abuja, demanding a credible election in 2019. We don’t know what went wrong, but they were allegedly tear-gassed. Now Senator Bruce is saying he and others have been summoned by the police to appear at the force headquarters.

An angry Bruce, however, threw a jab at the police saying when will they conclude an investigation into the attempted mace theft.
