Stranger accidentally donate more than $15,000 to a GoFundMe page instead of donating $15
A retired 72-year-old clicked on a GoFundMe page for a woman who lives more than 1,500 miles away from him, considered his limited budget and donated $15 instead, he somehow donated $15,787.
“My first thought was, ‘This didn’t happen,’ ” he said of the moment he realized his mistake a few days after making the donation. “Then it was, ‘How could this possibly happen?’ ”
Jim's donation was to Isata Jalloh (pictured above), a woman who was unfairly fired from her job pushing wheelchairs at Dulles International Airport because she was suspected of asking for a tip. After getting fired, she worried about how she was going to pay her rent at an apartment in Herndon, Virginia, and also send money to her children in Sierra Leone. Jim took pity on her and decided to help out.
Kofi Annan’s remains arrive Ghana for 3-day funeral service
The remains of former United Nations Secretary-General, Kofi Annan, arrived in Ghana on Monday, for the start of the three-day state funeral organized by the government of Ghana.
According to Citinewsroom, the country has organized a three-day state funeral for Annan, with the final burial slated for Thursday.
Kofi Annan, who was the 7th Secretary General of the UN, died in Switzerland on the 18th August 2018.

Miss New York Nia Franklin has been named the 2019 Miss America in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Franklin, 24, wowed judges when she performed an opera song during the talent portion of the competition. A native of Brooklyn, New York, Franklin said that she wanted to promote diversity, especially within the arts.
"I just want to thank God for this, it took a lot of perseverance to get here," she said shortly after winning, also thanking her family and especially her father, who is a survivor of cancer.

Dallas officer Amber Guyger who fatally shot 26-year-old Botham Jean after mistaking his apartment for her own has been arrested and charged with manslaughter, according to the Texas Rangers.
She was booked into the Kaufman County Jail.
Late Thursday evening, the off-duty Dallas officer, who was still in uniform, shot and killed Jean in his apartment after she apparently mistook his unit as her own.

bigger than Prince Harry’s. She and fiancee Jack Brooksbank have invited more
guests to St George’s Chapel in Windsor than the church will actually hold.
And it was also revealed
that she has even brought in the expensive party planner David Beckham uses to
help organize their wedding events which will span the whole weekend. They have
asked 850 guests to their wedding - meaning staff will need to bring in extra
chairs into the chapel, which seats just 800.
At least 17 killed as Plane Crashes into Lake in South Sudan

At least 17 people have died in South Sudan when a small aircraft carrying passengers from Juba International Airport to the city of Yirol crashed into a lake.
The 19-seater commercial Baby Airplane had been traveling from the capital, Juba, the minister of information for the town of Yirol, Taban Abel Aguek, told The Associated Press.
'We have not yet established full details of the airline but what we know it is a 19-seater plane coming from Juba to Yirol this morning.
When it arrived the weather was so foggy and when it tried to land it crashed into Lake Yirol adjacent to Yirol town. It's so sad. Many people on board are feared dead. We are still establishing details,” he said.

A disabled Nigerian man Francis Anwana is set to be deported after 34 years in the United States.
Born and raised in Nigeria, Anwana was just 14 years old when he came to the United States on a student visa.
He was deaf, couldn't talk, and had cognitive disabilities, enrolling at the Michigan School for the Deaf in Flint.
Now 48, Anwana lives in Detroit at an adult foster care facility, helping mow the lawns and mop the floors at a nearby church on Detroit's west side.
After he graduated and his student visa expired, several people tried to help Anwana gain citizenship. But because he no longer had a valid visa, he was ineligible to gain legal status.

Dallas officer enters an apartment she mistakes for hers and fatally shoots the man inside

A 26-year-old man has been killed after a Dallas police officer entered his house, thinking it was hers and shot him when she saw him inside.
According to NBC News, the incident took place late Thursday night after the officer entered the wrong apartment in her building and eventually opened fire. In a statement released by Dallas police, information suggests the officer involved called for help and told the responding officers “she entered the victim’s apartment believing that it was her own.”
Dallas Sgt. Warren Mitchell said the officer was heading home after working a full shift late on Thursday night when she mistakenly entered her neighbor, Botham Shem Jean's apartment home.
Emirates Plane quarantined in New York after After Several Reported Sick On Board

An Emirates plane was quarantined at the JFK Airport in New York
after several 100 travelers fell sick.
According to CNBC, about 100 people, including crew members on Flight
203 from Dubai to New York complained they felt sick.
The plane, an Airbus A380, the world's biggest traveler plane,
contained more than 500 individuals on board.
The plane was met by ambulances and medical personnel upon landing
with 10 people said to be taken to the nearby Hospital for treatment.
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection said it would admit the
passengers into the country once they were cleared by the U.S. Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention.
