A duck boat with 31 people on board capsized and sank to the bottom of Table Rock Lake during a severe thunderstorm on Thursday, resulting in one of the deadliest duck boat accidents in American.
According to Nytimes seventeen people were killed Thursday night when a tourist boat capsized in a southern Missouri lake as powerful thunderstorms passed through the Midwest.
Severe evening thunderstorms, including winds in excess of 60 mph, struck the area at the time of the sinking. Eyewitness video showed the craft, which travels on land and water, taking on water as waves lashed at its sides.
